Privacy Policy

Working draft for layout only — not reviewed by legal counsel. Do not rely on it; final text must be prepared/reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch.
This policy explains what personal information Demogenda collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — your money and your data deserve a policy you can actually read.
Summary
Demogenda pays real dollars for real-world missions. To do that safely we collect the information needed to set up your account, pay you, verify your work, and keep fraud out. Here is the short version:
- We collect what we need to run the service — no more — and we tell you what and why below.
- We never sell your personal information.
- We share data only with the vetted providers that help us pay you, store your work, and stop fraud.
- You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. See Your rights.
This plain-language summary is not a substitute for the full policy below. Where they differ, the full policy governs.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account data — name, email, phone number, password, and the settings you choose.
- Identity & KYC data — where the law or our payment partners require it, government ID, date of birth, and verification selfies used to confirm you are a real, eligible person before we move money.
- Device & location data — device type, app version, IP address, and — with your permission — precise location used to match you to nearby missions and to confirm you were where a mission required.
- Mission submissions — photos, scans, answers, timestamps, and other proof you upload to complete a mission.
- Payment data — the payout details (e.g. bank or card token) and transaction history needed to pay you and meet tax and anti-fraud rules. Full payment credentials are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Match you to missions and process your submissions.
- Verify your work and pay your earnings.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate or fake submissions.
- Meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
- Provide support and send service-related notices.
- Improve the product — measuring what works, fixing what does not.
We rely on the legal bases of contract (to run the service you signed up for), legal obligation (tax, KYC, anti-fraud), and legitimate interests (security and product improvement). Where required, we ask for your consent — for example, precise location.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your data, subject to legal retention limits.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
If you are in the EU/UK, the GDPR gives you these rights and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — which we do not do. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
To make a request, contact us at privacy@demogenda… ([TBD — confirm]: confirm address). We may need to verify your identity first.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and submission data is kept while your account is active. Payment, tax, and KYC records are kept for the periods required by law (often several years) even after you close your account. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. [TBD — confirm]: confirm exact retention periods per data category with counsel.
Children
Demogenda is not for children. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the service. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has used Demogenda, contact us and we will remove the account and data. [TBD — confirm]: confirm minimum age per jurisdiction.
International transfers
We may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including where our providers operate. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect it. [TBD — confirm]: confirm the specific transfer mechanisms and hosting regions.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
